: patrol launches of $2.50 60 cents general ration allowance per month the pay of a first class man ($13.10) will be less than that of a lst. class seaman in the Customs, and only $1.10 a month more than that of a seaman employed not continuously outside the harbour on privately owned launches.

1 carpenter $20. This man already gets $18. He has some 17 years service and is a first class man.
The second man gets $12 now and is a very good carpenter. He wants to have the service, as he can earn more than $12 outside.

The $50 a month rate was fixed in O.C.0. Confidential No.1 Extension X1. I could not get men for less.
Miscellaneous.
Station Sergeants and Orderlies. I have added $1 a month to each
